Genetics of Anorectal Malformation (ARM) webinar

25 May 2022 18.00 CEST

This joint ERN eUROGEN and ERN ERNICA webinar, supported by ARM-Net, will be presented by Dr. Heiko Reutter from Friedrich-Alexander University Nuremberg-Erlangen (DE) and Dr. Carlo Marcelis from Radboudumc (NL). Systematic investigations are used to elucidate the role of genetic factors in the expression of human anorectal malformations. The identification of disease genes leads to a profound understanding of the molecular biological mechanisms, which underlie both the normal and disturbed embryonic development of the human anorectal system. The identification of high penetrance causative genes will also lead to new diagnostic possibilities, provide families and clinicians with greater knowledge of the causes of the disorder, and allow a precise estimation of recurrence risk. The webinar will be addressed to healthcare professionals and patients.
